VIROQUA, Wis (WXOW) The prep baseball regular season is heading down the homestretch with area teams hoping to set themselves up for a big post-season run.
Viroqua is one of those teams. The Blackhawks are ranked 4th in the state in division two. They clinched the Coulee Conference title Tuesday with a win in game one of their doubleheader with G-E-T.
It's a team that returns a lot of experience from a squad that made it to sectionals last year. "We've been fortunate in some games. We have some good pitchers and we have timely hitting. Our defense isn't too bad. Baseball is a tough sport so you got to go at it every day. These kids usually play pretty well," said head coach Peter Swanson.
"We've got a good group of guys, lots of seniors. We have lots of experience coming back from last year and the year before. We've just been rolling this year, I guess," said senior Tyler Bentz.
