Bucks GM Hammond sees benefits with #2 pick over #1

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WXOW)  The end of last night's lottery is simply signaling the start of five weeks of speculation on whom the Bucks will get with the number two pick in the draft.

We do know John Hammond will make the pick. The Bucks general manager getting a vote of confidence from owners Marc Lasry and Wesley Edens.

Not having the top pick is bit of a bummer, then again, it will take some of the pressure and the spotlight off whomever the Bucks land at number 2.

"You look at the guys who've been the number one pick in the past drafts, if there's any slippage in their play, if it takes them a little longer to become an accomplished player, that's a tough burden to bare.  If you don't live up to those expectations it can be very difficult.  So, to a certain extent, there is a little less extra pressure on a second pick," Hammond said Wednesday.

Cleveland has the number one pick overall and are expected to select Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker.
