Holmen sweeps Central to claim MVC

HOLMEN, Wis. (WXOW)  The Holmen Vikings won their third straight MVC baseball title thanks to a doubleheader sweep over Central Thursday, 4-1 and 10-9.

In game one, Ryan Wesely pitched six and two-thirds to pick up the win. He gave up one run and six hits.

Greg Rooney came in to get the save.

Joe Hudson had a two-run double in the first inning to give Holmen a lead they would never give up.

In game two, Jeren Kendall, Griffin Johnson and Michael Woggon had two hits each to lead the Vikings.

Central was the home team in game two and had the winning runs on base in the bottom of the 7th. But Jered Ambrose popped out to end the game.

The sweep keeps the top-ranked Vikings perfect at 19-0 overall, 11-0 in the MVC.
