Rochester Honkers open up a new season

Posted:
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) --  Just another sign that we've broken out of the cold weather's grasp.  The Rochester Honkers take the field for their home opener. As the new season gets under way the team is unveiling some new things.

It's always nice to see new things come in and the main thing people that come out to the games will notice is the menu.
The Honkers are introducing a brand new Gluten Free menu that will be on display for the first time tonight. That will contain popular ballpark items in gluten free form, basically your hot dogs, nachos, things of that nature that just add to the baseball experience. Also new this year is a Sangria bar to go along with more traditional cold one at the ball games.

"You see other teams rolling out these deep fried foods and that's fun and everything, but we really want to market towards a healthier audience so you can go to the ballpark and not say oh my gosh I just ate all that," said Cedar Netwal of the Honkers.

Former Mayo High School pitcher Brandon Zywicki takes the mound Tuesday night for the Honkers.
