TOWNSHIP OF TOMAH, Wis. (WXOW) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Department has tracked down the man who offered a ride to a young boy Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, it turned out to be a neighbor who offered the boy a ride so he wouldn't have to walk in the rain. The statement said the driver meant no harm to the child.
After being dropped off by the school bus, the driver of a grey jeep offered the boy a ride. The boy said no, and the man left. The boy told his mother who then called the sheriff's department.
The release did say that the child and his mother, neither of whom knew the man, did exactly the right thing in this situation.
