LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) —Logan High School is one of two area schools to receive a donation to their special education department.
The Riverfront Foundation donated $850 to the school on Wednesday.
The money was collected by teams though the Foundation's GAME ON! fundraiser. At an event earlier this year, eight teams played different games before a live audience. The top fundraising team and the team who won chose Logan and Sparta High School's Special Education Departments as the two places for the donations.
Sparta received a donation of $650 earlier this month.
Logan High School Special Education Department Chair, Katherine Sobania, says the money will be put to good use.“These are times of very, very tight budgets. And just to be offered that gift—it’s just awesome,” said Sobania.
Ideas from the special education department include apps for the iPads, books, and eBooks.
