Clues to find the Riverfest Medallion

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Riverfest 2014 has a medallion hunt! It's your chance to win some great prizes from Riverfest!  We'll update the clues each morning until the medallion is found. Good Luck!

Here's Clue #1:
The ground has thawed and flowers grow.

It’s that time of year to say 1,2,3…go,

Riverfest Searchers in La Crosse Abound.

The 2014 Riverfest Medallion can now be found.

But have you read the rules, do you have a map,

Find a veteran hunter whose memory you can tap.

Here's Clue #2:

The colors of freedom stand for Hero’s sake,

For fighters of glory in war’s wake

And honor we do, those who fight,

To protect our freedom in the Dawn’s Early Light.

Hand on heart or ceremonial salute,

Give thanks for all who pass wearing a soldier’s suit.

Here's Clue #3:

So, you think you know, well maybe you do.

Let’s see where you are after this clue.

A most famous person has come into view,

But to you – I bet – his name is new.

His ventures were something to behold

In 1899 he could see a glimmer of gold.

Where are you now, you smarty pants,

I have fooled you again if you’re picnicking with ants!

Clue #4 – June 4th
So many names to be thrown at you,

How about we add a Hixon, too!

But stay out of the forest, just an annex you see,

This hiding place is too low for a tree.

But a tree you will see – and so many names to choose,

Pick the wrong one and you will lose.

But maybe, come fall, we will meet,

And to think I see it all, but not on Mulberry STREET!
