Creepy story web site plans fundraiser for young Wisconsin stabbing victim
WAUKESHA (WXOW) -- The web site Creepypasta.com says it will organize a fundraiser for a 12-year-old Waukesha girl who was stabbed 19 times last weekend, according to a report from WISN-TV.
The site was thrust into the national spotlight when the victim was attacked by two friends, also 12, who told police they did it to become the "proxy" of the Slender Man, a fictional character they read stories about on Creepypasta. One attacker told police, according to the criminal complaint, they wanted to prove the Slender Man was real.
The Creepypasta web site features "short, creepy stories" posted by various contributors.
A group of narrarators from the site have organized an online live stream fundraiser to take place June 13-14, featuring narrators, authors, artists and musicians who will showcase entertainment and education.
The group said it wants to promote its long-standing message of "Creativity, not reality."
