LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WXOW) - A sudden storm leaves a number of reminders in its wake.

The storms moved into the area around 3:00 p.m. with gusty winds, heavy rain, and hail.

The storms forced the temporary postponement of the WIAA State Track and Field Meet at UW-L. Several thousand athletes and fans were evacuated from Roger Harring Stadium as a precaution from the rain and lightning.

According to the National Weather Service, the rains caused street flooding in La Crescent as well as brought down several tree limbs around the city.
