State Track and Field - Local Boys Events Divisions 2 & 3


La Crosse, WIS (WXOW) ------ Dreams of state glory are coming to fruition for Wisconsin's top track athletes.

They're back in La Crosse for a 25th year competing in the WIAA State Track and Field Championships.

The afternoon session delayed for two hours for a pesky thunderstorm on Day 1.

All eyes this afternoon, went from the skies to defending champion Alex Hatlevig.

The Melrose-Mindoro senior cruised to a preliminary win in the 100 dash. Hatlevig will look to retain his title tomorrow.

Arcadia's Bryce Koval had a bounce in his step this afternoon, the raider won his heat in the boys 400 meter dash in a time of 49.37 seconds.

It was a pretty good day for Bangor, in the 110 meter hurdles, Robert Martin finishes 4th in his heat in a time of 15.49 seconds.

In the boys 400 meter dash, it was Bangor's Caleb Miller crossing the line in 3rd, while Independence/Gilmanton’s Alex Grulkowski finishes 2nd.
