Robber caught after holdup in Sparta

SPARTA, Wis. (WXOW) -Sparta Police say they arrested a Camp Douglas man Saturday after he held up a store with a gun, demanded cash, and fled.

Sparta Police officers arrested Jacob Elliot, 25, around 3 p.m. after he ran from the Sparta EZ Money Payday Loans store on Black River Street S. with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Elliot allegedly had a mask on, displayed a handgun to an employee, and demanded cash. When officers arrived on scene, he ran. Elliot is now in the Monroe County Jail and will appear in court Monday.
