LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Some call it the happiest instrument on the planet, it's the ukulele.
On Sunday people wanting to learn to play one got the chance at the Uke-A-Palooza at the Best Western Hotel in La Crosse. Beginners could learn basic songs and show off their skills. About 100 people of all ages came out to try the instrument, and play along with others.
A local ukulele group named CheezLand Uke Band put on the event. Bill Trubilowicz, President of the CheezLand Uke Band said, "This really feeds into all of the frustrated musicianship's. Over time I've tried to play other instruments and wasn't successful but when they put a ukulele in my hand it was like magic."
