LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Charges are filed against a teen accused of cutting a family member with a knife at their home in the Town of Holland. He was originally arrested on an attempted homicide charge.
Xai Vang, 19, is charged with 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety and substantial battery-intend bodily harm.
According to a criminal complaint filed in La Crosse County, Vang was arguing with his mother at their home at N6942 Garden Street around 2:30 Sunday afternoon. The complaint states that the argument kept escalating so two of Vang's brothers tried to intervene. At one point, the brothers told police Vang grabbed a knife and in attempt to get the knife from him, one of the brothers was cut.
Police said the brother was treated and released at a local hospital for his injure.
Vang is being held in La Crosse County Jail. He is expected to be back in court on June 19.
