Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps prepares for local performances
ONALASKA, Wis. (WXOW) - They practice fourteen hours a day to be the best of the best. On Friday, the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps rehearsed on the soccer fields near the Omni Center in Onalaska.
The Blue Stars, founded in 1964, is honoring their fiftieth anniversary with a number of performances around the La Crosse area. On Saturday, June 14, the Blue Stars is holding their Hall of Fame Banquet and Grand Premier Performance at WTC Lunda Center. Blue Star's Alumni Corps will perform "Where the Heart Is." Later in the evening, Blue Stars will hold its Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
This year Blue Stars is inducting Dawn Christianson of La Crosse, Charlie Cullen of Pennsylvania, Bradley Furlano of La Crosse, and Colin Klos of La Crosse.
Later in the week the Blue Stars will also be practicing for performances at the Loggers game on June 18 and their preview concert on June 19.
They are gearing up for their competition season, which runs through the summer.
