La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -
LA CROSSE, Wis.(WXOW) - Artspire kicked off today with the big reveal of the long awaited mural on the Pump House.
The mural is a representation of La Crosse, with ice on both sides to symbolize the driftless region, as well as different cultures painted throughout to show the diversity of La Crosse.
John Pugh, the main artist of the project, says he is proud of the work, and he feels he has a great connection with the city getting to know the history.
La Crosse's own Dustin Luecke was an MC at the event and introduced the Mayor, Tim Kabat and three-time Grammy Award winner Bill Miller. The Mayor and Bill Miller talked about how great La Crosse is and how welcoming the people are.
Artspire will continue tomorrow all day, with more performers, artists, and demonstrations.
