VIROQUA, Wisconsin (WXOW) Last time Viroqua made it to the state baseball tournament it was held in Wausau. It's time to get out the google maps because Viroqua is headed back to state, this time to Appleton.
The Blackhawks putting in some final preparations for their division 2 semifinal game with Ripon on Wednesday. Viroqua has had 6 days to bask in the glow of their first trip to state since 1985. Their place in school history is not lost on the team. "It's insane. None of us have been in a state tournament in high school. So, it's big to get back there. Last year we were so close and this year we came back, and it's awesome," said senior pitcher Mitch Stalsberg. "It's a great group of guys. I couldn't ask for a better group. These guys are all my best friends. To make it to State and play baseball with these guys, it's a lot of fun," said senior rightfielder Tyler Bentz.
Viroqua and Ripon will play the last game on Wednesday. They're division 2 semifinals starts at about 8:15 PM.
