Stalsberg Leads Viroqua Into State

La Crosse, WIS. (WXOW) ----- The Viroqua Blackhawks have used a dominate pitching rotation to guide them to the school's first baseball state tournament appearance since 1985.

Mitch Stalsberg is the ace of the staff. The Winona State recruit, has dominated all season, earning a 6-1 record while striking out 101 hitters.

"I'd like to think every time I'm on the mound I can get a win and help the team win," says Stalsberg.

The lefty who can touch 90 miles per hour on the radar gun, has an ERA of just 0.15 this season.

"He's one of the better ones we have had here, he's such a superb athlete, he enjoys the big situation and does the job," says Head Coach Pete Swanson.

"When he's on the mound anything can happen, we can beat anyone, he has a lot of stuff, he can touch 90, so he is tough to hit for any team," says Senior Tyler Bentz.
