LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) Residents throughout the Coulee Region are cleaning up after strong storms moved through the area early Wednesday morning.

In Onalaska, heavy winds pushed down powerlines and trees on top of cars.  The 900 block of West Ave. was shut down due to all the damage.  Damage was also reported throughout La Crosse.

Xcel Energy said crew restored power to more than 5,000 customers in the La Crosse and Onalaska area but 600 customers are still without power.  Xcel expected power to be fully restored by Wednesday afternoon.
