iCan Bike helps those with disabilities

Posted:
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW)-- The program "iCan Bike" is helping those with disabilities learn how to ride a bike.

It's part of the non-profit organization iCan Shine.

Eighteen students ages 8 to 19 gathered indoors at UW-L's Eagle Recreation Center for lessons.

Instead of first learning on a tricycle, the students are learning on two wheel bikes.

The bikes have rollers in place of their back wheel to help with balance.

As the students get better, the rollers are exchanged for thinner ones.

By the end of the five day program, students will graduate to the parking lot and ride on their own.
