LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - La Crosse Riverfest is now a little over a week away and on Friday tickets and buttons were on sale at a reduced rate. Riverfest is a three-day festival held in Riverside Park with music, booths, games, and food.
Buttons were on sale for five dollars, tickets to the Rick Springfield concert Wednesday July 3rd were on sale for $37.00 for two tickets instead of the usual $25 each.
For every button sold Friday, one will be given to Operation Homefront, an organization that supports the families of deployed service members.
The Riverfest festivities start Wednesday July 2nd, with Rick Springfield performing that night at 9:30 p.m, and go through July 5th.
Other events include the Big Blue Dragon Boat Races, corn hole tournaments, and The Extreme Stunt Dogs.
Riverfest President Nick Bjerke said he hopes to see 20,000 people come to Riverfest. Bjerke said, "It's hard to measure right now, we've been in a couple of rebuilding years, we had horrible weather two years ago, so we're still coming back from that, and anything is better than that year."
Buttons and tickets for the concert are available at La Crosse area Kwik Trip stores and online RiverfestLaCrosse.com.
