WINONA, Minn. (WXOW) -- Amy Jo Marks never had any doubts she would serve coffee from her shop again.
After a fire destroyed her Blooming Grounds Coffee House last September, she knew it would be a long road back for her 11-year business, but it's mid-June, and the renovations are nearly complete. She hopes to open the shop this weekend for the first time.
"I kept thinking it was going to come and then it got pushed off and so it's kind of like, is it really going to come?" Marks said. "But it is. It's just been a long haul. It'll be really awesome to have everything just done."
The new version of the coffee house will be roughly twice as big, expanding into the neighboring clothing store. She will also serve alcohol, and hopes to create an environment people choose to hang out at during the evening hours.
Marks has since opened a second location at the Winona Mall, which she said is doing well. Now she'll have to manage two locations.
