WILLMAR, Minn. (WXOW) - The La Crosse Loggers saw their seven game win streak come to an end Tuesday night with a 4-2 loss on the road to the Willmar Stingers.
Things looked good for the Loggers at the start of the game. The team managed to load the bases with two outs in the top of the first inning. La Crosse could only score Nash Knight from third on an RBI single to the shortstop that Luke Persico beat out.
The Loggers added another run in the top of the fifth when Adrian Chacon scored from third on the fielders choice smack by Jack Meggs.
The Stingers Reagan Fowler notched two RBIs in the bottom of the fifth for Willmar when he hit a double that scored Brian Pruett and Frankie Rios.
The scored two more runs in the bottom of the six for what proved to be the margin of victory for Willmar.
La Crosse concludes their road swing with a final game Wednesday in Willmar before returning to the Lumberyard.
The Loggers are now 19-9 and in a tie with the Lakeshore Chinooks for the top spot in the Southern Division of the Northwoods League.
