WINONA, Minn. (WXOW) - Winona Health hosted high school students from across the Midwest on Thursday. The students were attending Winona State University's Scrubs Camp. The week long camp gives students the opportunity to explore careers in health care.
Students talked with pharmacists, physical therapists, and phlebotomists. They also met with emergency response crews and saw the inside of an ambulance and helicopter. Staff worked with students on hands-on activities like finding veins and CPR.
Winona Health has partnered with Scrubs Camp since 2012. Scrubs Camp was started in 2008. The camp runs from June 22-27. Attendees live in Winona State University's dorms during the week.
Winona Health sponsored two students attending the camp.
