LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - It's a beauty contest for semi-trucks and it's in La Crosse this weekend.
Nearly 50 semi-trucks are at River States Customz on Kinney Coulee Road competing for a chance to be named 'Best in Show' in a national truck beauty competition.
The trucks are being judged on things like cleanliness and the finish of their paint. Some trucks have half a million dollars of work put into them.
Vinnie Diorio is competing in the truck beauty contest, he said "It's pretty over the top...you could buy two trucks for what we've put into this one."
The winner of 'Best in Show' gets to compete in a national competition in Texas. But for some, winning isn't everything.
Tom Davis explained how he got started in the competitions, "as a bucket list thing for my father who passed away, to go to a truck show, so we kind of got the bug...and then we were embarrassed to open our hood...and about 5,000 man hours later we can open our hood."
You can stop by and see the trucks for yourself. They will be at River States Customz Friday until midnight and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., admission is free.
