UPDATE: Power restored to most Xcel customers

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Crews from Xcel Energy have restored power to most of those who lost it due to the storms in our area Saturday night.

As of 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening, approximately 126 customers in the La Crosse area don't have electricity. That's down from the roughly 7,300 reported Saturday night.

More than 100 of those customers are in an area of French Island.  The remaining outages are reported as individual homes scattered throughout the city.

According to Xcel Energy's Outage Map, they estimate the repairs should be done by late Sunday night.


LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - A few thousand customers remain with out power Sunday morning as crews from Xcel Energy repair damage from Saturday night's storms.

As of 10:15 a.m., around 3,000 residences don't have power restored yet according to the Xcel Energy Outage Map.

Late Saturday night, an Xcel Energy spokesperson said they've called in additional crews throughout Wisconsin and southeast of the Twin Cities to assist with the damage.

About 7,300 residences lost power due to the storms. The crews would be out all night, restoring power lines, according Brian Elwood, a spokesperson for Xcel Energy.

Elwood said La Crosse is the city hit the hardest throughout the state.
