LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The La Crosse Fire Department said they responded to 50 calls during Saturday night's storms.
That number is more than double the roughly 20 calls the department responds to on an average Saturday night.
When electricity is involved, it makes for a more dangerous situation, according to Lt. Jason Herbold of the La Crosse Fire Department.
"It's difficult. Visibility is limited during these times, (there's) power outages, things go black, the city goes dark," Herbold said. "It's difficult when we're operating our apparatus around the city just to make sure we're not running into any power lines."
Firefighters said there are no reported injuries during the storm, but even Sunday morning, the department has been responding to storm-related calls.
