LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – There was a burglary at Wiebke Fur & Trading Company in La Crosse around 4 a.m. Monday morning.
Wiebke Fur & Trading Store Manager Jeff Adamson told News 19 that someone kicked an attic vent in, tore it apart while trying to get into his store. According to Adamson, they broke through a couple of 2x6 boards blocking the attic and crawled into the attic space.
Adamson said they did not gain entry into his business. Wiebke Fur & Trading sells guns and hunting equipment, and Adamson said the suspects broke into a truck and trailer behind the store and stole hunting equipment among other miscellaneous items.
Around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, witnesses said police arrested four suspects at Affordable Inn on Monitor Street near Wiebke Fur & Trading Company. Some guests told News 19 the suspects were hiding inside rooms at the hotel.
