LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Four people from Minnesota are in jail after their arrest Monday as suspects in a number of burglaries in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The investigation began Monday morning, when according to a La Crosse Police statement, officers went to Wonder Wash Car Wash on the south side for a reported burglary.

Officers found a car stolen from Fillmore County when they arrived. Video surveillance cameras showed several suspects in the break-in.

Later information led police to the Affordable Inn at 614 Monitor Street. There they arrested the four suspects. All four have addresses in the Austin, Minnesota area. Officers also found firearms, ammo, tools, and a tactical flak jacket.

La Crosse Police said that the group is believed to be involved in the theft of firearms from a vehicle and an attempted burglary of Wiebke Fur and Trading Company.  Investigators believe they are also involved in a series of burglaries in southeastern Minnesota.

The four are in the La Crosse County Jail awaiting court appearances.
