VILLAGE OF ASHWAUBENON (WXOW) -- Officials in north-eastern Wisconsin have been wanting to name a street after Coach Mike McCarthy ever since the Packers won Super Bowl in 2010. Now it is a step closer to become a reality.
The Village of Ashwaubenon is proposing that Potts Avenue between Ashland Avenue and Oneida Street will be named Mike McCarthy Way.
It would joined other named roads such as Lombardi Avenue, Reggie White Way, Brett Favre Drive, and Holmgren Way. President of the Village of Ashwaubenon Michael Aubinger says, "Mike McCarthy is a known coach and winning the Super Bowl, that fits in with that area."
