Four Brewers earn All-Star nod

Posted:

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (WXOW)  Four Brewers will get to spend the All-Star break playing instead of resting.

For the 5th time in franchise history, the team will send 4 players to the mid-summer classic, which will be played at Target Field in Minneapolis on July 15th.

Outfielder Carlos Gomez and 3rd baseman Aramis Ramirez were voted in as starters.

Catcher Jonathan Lucroy and relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez were chosen as reserves.

Gomez was selected for the second time in his career and the second year in a row.

Ramirez will play in his third All-Star Game,  but it'll be his first as a Brewer.

Lucroy makes it for the first time in his career.

He's hitting .329 this season.

And Rodriguez will make his 5th appearance in the All-Star Game, but it's his first as a Brewer.

He's tied for the major league lead with 27 saves this season.
