Powerful winds damage home, trees in Homer

HOMER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Strong winds in the southern part of Winona County left a mess for first responders and one homeowner Sunday afternoon.

According to the Winona law enforcement center, powerful winds downed power lines and trees in one stretch between Pickwick and Homer in Winona County.

A crew on scene said a home on Homer Road, also known as Winona County Road 15, was damaged when a tree fell on its roof.

One lane of Highway 61 was closed for a short time due to debris on the roadway.

Power companies responded, as well as Pickwick and Homer first responders, the Winona County Sheriff's Office, and Minnesota State Patrol.
