Bridge work to start on Hwy 16 north of Hokah

ROCHESTER, Minn.(WXOW) — Changes are coming to Highway 16 north of Hokah.  Starting July 9, drivers will encounter a lane closure and automated traffic lights as crews repair a bridge deck.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the work is expected to be completed by July 14.

The location of the work is in Houston County about 1.3 miles north of the Highway 16 junction with Highway 44 in Hokah.

Traffic will be controlled with automated traffic lights for the safety for motorists and workers and to allow traffic across the bridge during the work.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work and emergency zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
