SPARTA, Wis. (WXOW)- The new Family Aquatic Center is open in Sparta starting Wednesday. The $4.5 million pool and water park was funded through a referendum that passed in the county. Ground was broken last October on the facility.
On Monday, the center passed state inspection which allowed it to open.
The water park has many new features and technologies. For example, the pool now has a 290 foot inner tube slide that lands into a 57,000 gallon lazy river. They also have a kiddie pool slide, tipping buckets, lily pad water walkway, 3 meter high board and more.
The official ribbon cutting is July 19 at 11:30 a.m. To celebrate, a canned good donation will allow for free admission on Saturday, July 19 from 12-8 p.m.
