Improved Tolzien better prepared for this season with the Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WXOW) There's no doubt the Packers are much better off at back-up quarterback with Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien then they were at this time last year.

Tolzien is coming off his first full off-season working with the Packers offense.

This, after the former Badger bounced around the league a bit.

But he impressed the Green Bay coaches enough in three starts last year.

Tolzien will battle Flynn for the top backup spot.

But his first goal is simply to make the team.

"Man, its a huge opportunity and I try not to make too much of it because it is such a big opportunity. It's been great to be able to draw on my Wisconsin experience being down on the depth chart and working my way up. The best way to approach it is to focus on yourself. But I love it up there, it's a great organization, I love the guys on the team and I hope to be there come this season," Tolzien said.

Tolzien joined the Packers last season the week of their season opener.

So he never had an off-season to get acclimated until this year.
