Late rally falls short for Loggers


 KALAMAZOO, MI (WXOW)  The Loggers closed out their five-game road trip with a 6-5 loss at Kalamazoo.

La Crosse had the bases loaded on the top of the 9th but Luke Persico grounded into a double play to end the threat.

The Loggers banged out 12 hits but once again left several runners on base.

They had eight left on base total.

Joe Meggs had three hits and Ryne Birk went 3 for 4 with three runs batted in.

Zack Walsh was the losing pitcher.

The Loggers fall to 7-9 for the 2nd half and open a two-game homestand Saturday against Lakeshore at The Lumberyard.
