LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – People grabbed sun block, a bathing suit, and their anchors on Saturday, to dock on the Black River for Aquapalooza.
American Marine sponsored the event for about a decade, and said it's La Crosse's “biggest water party”.
Those who docked could swim and listen to music, and now that the weather is warmer and river levels are lower, organizers said Saturday was a good opportunity to celebrate summer.
“Well, a year like this, it's been such bad weather, so everyone's been itching to get out on the water. You got a nice sunny day, but you got live music out on the water, a bunch of boats rafted off together, and it gives people a chance to get to know each other and get to meet some new boaters,” American Marine Owner Justin Pretasky said.
Aquapalooza is hoping to attract more than 100 boaters and swimmers this year. Aquapalooza wrapped up with an after-party at Huck Finn's.
