Coulee Region Chill open training camp


LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) It's A big week for the Coulee Region Chill and for those hockey players looking to advance their careers.

The Chill is holding a 4-day tryout camp, starting Thursday, for all positions.

Roughly 170 players, including 8 returners, are competing for just 25 spots.

The players are divided into 8 teams with scrimmages held through Sunday.

Cuts will be made tomorrow and Saturday before the final roster is selected Sunday.

"We're choosing our team out of this camp. We have a lot of players in here so it's an exciting time. It's the culmination of all the hard work we put in on the phone, scouting and watching different showcases and other events throughout the spring and summer. So, it's an exciting time to get them all in one place and choose the team," said head coach and general manager A.J. Degenhardt.

The camp is be held at Green Island Ice Arena in La Crosse and is open to the public.
