They're on the verge of another title after following that recipe this summer.
La Crescent battles Luverne Legion Friday night in the opening game of the state tournament. They enter the tournament at 24-9 after rallying to beat Adams twice on Sunday to win the district title.
The team admits it has struggled with focus at times this summer, but knows how to win, and knows exactly what it's going to take to bring home another crown this weekend.
"Main thing for us, it'll be pitching, giving up no walks, error-free games, and putting the ball in play and putting the pressure on the defense," said head coach Jamie Muller, who has led La Crescent to two state titles in 11 seasons.
"I think we just need to keep the same mentality. Good defense, good pitching," said Jevin Dorschner. "We trust our pitchers and we just gotta hit the ball like we have been. I think we'll be just fine."
La Crescent and Luverne play at 7:00 p.m. Friday night in Luverne, Minnesota.
