A tour across Wisconsin to protect the choices of individuals with disabilities
La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -
Hundreds of individuals with disabilities and their families are traveling around the state speak out on their concerns over new rules regarding Medicaid funds.
Organizers of the Voice Your Choice Tour feel the new rules may threaten the choices people with disabilities have in work, residential and life skills training. During a stop in La Crosse, the group spoke about how this proposal is concerning to families who want to preserve the full array of employment and home choice for their loved ones with significant disabilities.
Starting August 1, the public has 30 days to make their comments to the state on how they plan to implement the federal rules.
Organizers with the Voice your Choice Tour want to ensure that people with disabilities who may be affected by these proposed changes, along with their family, are aware of the proposal and advised on how to exercise their rights to comment on it.
