The American Queen stopped by Riverside Park on Thursday afternoon, drawing hundreds out for a look at the world's largest steamboat. The steamboat left La Crosse Thursday night at five, heading to Red Wing. Visitors were not allowed on the steamboat.
The American Queen is 418 feet long, and 89 feet high. The ship has room for over 430 passengers. The boat was built in 1994 and launched in 1995.
The Queen of the Mississippi Steamboat also planned to be in La Crosse Thursday afternoon, but was delayed. The Queen of the Mississippi will be in La Crosse Friday instead.
