G-E-T hoping to continue playoff streak with fresh faces

Posted: Updated:
Galesville, WI (WXOW)  It's not the most ideal situation when you can count the number of returning starters on one hand.                    Make that one finger.    That's right, one.
That's how many returning starters are back for G-E-T this season.
Lucas Scherr is the only starter back from a team that went 5-5 last season and qualified for the playoffs.
The Red Hawks have actually qualified for the post season in 12 straight seasons.                                                                                    Even with the large roster turnover they expect to keep that streak alive.

"This season we have a lot of new faces and a lot of numbers out here on the field.  There's going to be a lot of new people out there getting playing time.  We're going to see who wants to play and who doesn't want to play," said junior receiver Lucas Scherr, the only returning starter.

" Red Hawk football, we're always expected to play hard games and play smash-mouth offense and defense," said receiver/defensive back Brendon Bender.

G-E-T opens the season at home Thursday, August 21st against Mondovi.
