Families in need will get a chance to stock up on school supplies, thanks to one Portage County group.
The United Way of Portage County is holding its annual Project Fresh Start drive.
About 200 volunteers are collecting and sorting notebooks, pencil sharpeners and more.
This Saturday, they'll be giving the supplies to families who need them most.
Organizers say they expect to help about 1,300 children.
"Very rewarding because I know it takes a lot to start a new school year and I know if I was going into something like this, it would mean a lot to me to help these people out." Kelly Skeels, Project Fresh Start Coordinator
Organizers say they are still accepting supply donations.
They say they are low on some items like glue and pencil boxes.
