The US Census Bureau is sending out a survey to certain residents. It's called The American Community Survey. It's a mandatory, ongoing statistical survey that samples a small percentage of the population every year.
It gives communities information to help them plan investments and services. It asks questions about housing, income, education, where you work, and how much you pay for some essentials.
The US Census Bureau said they combine the answers into statistics that are used to help decide everything from school lunch programs to new hospitals.
If you get the American Community Survey in the mail it is required by law that you fill it out. You can fill it out and mail it back, or do it online.
The Census Bureau estimates the survey will take you 40 minutes to complete.
