Speed and experience are the prevailing themes at Arcadia where the Raiders are ready to roll into the 2014 season.
They are the defending Coulee Conference champs.
And they're also the favorite in the eyes of many to repeat.
Arcadia went through the conference undefeated last season.
But one experience they would just as soon forget is their 2nd round playoff loss to Stratford.
That earlier than expected exit did not sit well with them this off season.
"Oh yeah, it left a bitter taste in our mouth. That was something we really didn't like. But this year we're coming back and trying to go to State," said receiver Keenen Klopotek.
"I think that was a lot of motivation. We didn't go out the way we thought we should've gone out. Players said we're not going to have that happen again. There was a lot of effort in the off season and guys coming together working hard in practice," said head coach Derek Updike.
Arcadia is also anxious to debut their new field turf at Cashen Field.
They will host Independence/Gilmanton Friday in the opener.
