The Packers will close up training camp with their final open practice Wednesday morning.
Sometime before then, the coaching staff will determine who will play and how much in Thursday night's preseason finale against the Chiefs.
Aaron Rodgers most likely will not play, and head coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday that Matt Flynn has had about 10 fewer snaps in preseason games than Scott Tolzien.
He has two plans to equal that out, but has yet to decide on which one.
But neither plan calls for the two quarterbacks, locked in a dead heat for the backup spot, to alternate series.
"We won't go series by series, I'm not a fan of every series. Playing quarterback obviously is a demanding position. You have to give the quarterbacks an opportunity to create rhythm and flow. So at minimum, I think they would play at least one quarter before you switched. I think you have to be smart about that. I have never been a fan of going every other series; I've been part of that in my past," McCarthy said.
The Packers host Kansas City Thursday at 6 PM.
You can see that game on WXOW 19 starting at 5:30 with the pregame show.
