A former Jackson County District Attorney moves from prosecutor to the other side of the bench.
Thursday, Governor Scott Walker appointed Anna Becker as judge of the Jackson County Circuit Court. She replaces Judge Thomas Lister, who recently retired.
“Anna Becker will make a superb judge,” said Governor Walker. “Her breadth of experience, significant involvement with the community, and firm commitment to the rule of law will be of immense value to Jackson County.”
She served as District Attorney from 1999 to 2007. Becker is the current Family Court Commissioner in Jackson County.
In a statement from the Governor's office, retired Jackson County Judge Robert Radcliffe wrote in for Becker, saying “The selection of Anna Becker would be in the very best interests of the citizens of Jackson County. She has earned our support in favor of her appointment as Circuit Judge,” and “would be an excellent addition to the distinguished trial judges in Wisconsin.”
