One dead, 14 injured in school bus crash

Pulaski, WI (WXOW) -

One woman is dead and 14 others are injured after a car slammed into the side rear of a school bus crossing on Highway 29 near Pulaski around nine Tuesday night.

Pulaski is roughly 20 miles northwest of Green Bay.

The bus was carrying 25 people, including 21 students, 3 coaches and a driver from the Pulaski Community School District's varsity and J-V girls volleyball team.

Shawano County Sheriff's Office says a passenger in the car, a 24-year-old woman from Athens, was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver, a 27-year-old man from Marathon, suffered severe injuries in the crash.

Eight students were brought to a nearby hospital, and at least five more students were brought to the hospital after being checked out at the scene.

Highway 29 was closed for about five hours.
