La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -

A La Crosse woman who is charged with stealing 15 cats from the Onalaska Humane Society has a bench warrant out for her arrest.

Lee Ann Shore, 46, is accused of breaking into the Humane Society in May to get her cats back after Animal Control removed them from her home due to the poor living conditions.

Shore was suppose to appear in court on September 10 but did not show up. La Crosse County has now issued a bench warrant for her arrest.

The La Crosse County District Attorneys office said Shore's court appearance was scheduled because Shore canceled her competency evaluation. The evaluation was ordered by Judge Todd Bjerke in August after Shore failed to schedule an evaluation on her own.

Shore is charged with burglary, criminal damage to property, theft, bail jumping and resisting officers.
