A former Treasurer for La Crescent's Applefest is facing felony charges and accused of stealing money from the community event.
According to the criminal complain filed in Houston County, Kelli Holliday, 32, admitted to taking money from the community event to pay her cellphone bill. Also, she told police she gave relatives and other board members permission to use Applefest's credit card for gas.
Holliday told police she stole about $2,400 dollars for personal use but, Applefest Board President Mary Lehrman said $8,000 dollars is missing.
Among the charges Holliday faces are financial transaction card fraud, theft by false representation and felony theft.
She is expected in Houston County Court in November
Holliday was the Applefest Treasurer from January 2013-December 2013.
