EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) - Two people are dead, six are injured and a suspected drunken driver has been arrested after a car crashed into a van near Eau Claire.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports (http://bit.ly/1s7e4FA ) the crash happened on westbound Interstate 94 about 2:40 a.m. Saturday. Two of the van's passengers died on the scene and the six other injured occupants have injuries that are not life-threatening.
A black car hood at the scene was tied to a Toyota Camry that troopers found ditched on a dead-end road.
The State Patrols says four hours later, Dunn County sheriff's deputies saw the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle walking along a road in Menomonie. The Cadott man was arrested.
